Do Kourtney Kardashian's Supplements Really Work?

They’re all over social media. Lemme Kourtney Kardashian.

A celebrity brand can sometimes be great and sometimes not so much, but thankfully we’re in the same business, so we have a bit of knowledge to share about the claims made about supplements.

This post will go over a variety of Lemme vitamins and see whether the ingredients match what they’re advertised to do, as well as give our opinion on whether they are worth buying.

Let’s begin!

What is Kourtney Kardashian vitamins?

Kourtney Kardashian supplements are all over social media and the branding is quite spot on. The brand is called, ‘Lemme,’ with each product named after what it’s used for, a pain point, if you will — Lemme Sleep, Lemme Bloat, Lemme Focus.

But is Lemme a good product? Let’s go through a few.

Lemme Burn

Cost: $40

Price per serving: $1.33 (60 capsules, 30 servings)

What it does: Activates metabolism and fight belly fat

Ingredients:

  • 450mg Actiponin® gynostemma extract
  • 250mg green tea leaf extract
  • 5mg vitamin B6
  • 500mcg vitamin B12
  • Other Ingredients: Floli50™️ (Organic Brown Rice Grain Flower, Organic Brown Rice Sprouted Protein), Hypromellose Vegan Capsule

Scientific studies behind the ingredients

  • A 12-week 2013 study found that 450mg per day of actiponin gynostemma may be effective for treating people with obesity by lowering abdominal fat, body weight, body fat mass, per cent body fat and BMI.
  • Another 16-week 2022 study found the same results when taking 450mg in overweight and obese males and females.
  • Since gynostemma can induce AMPK activity, AMPK helps control the energy balance in our bodies and proteins related to lipid and glucose metabolism.
  • Actiponin gynostemma may also improve glycemia and insulin sensitivity.
  • Green tea extract has been found to have a minimal impact on weight loss, but it’s a great anti-inflammatory.
  • Vitamin B6 can help with your immune system, which may help have secondary benefits on weight.

Will it work?

From the ingredients, Lemme Burn may have positive impacts on lowering body fat and lipid metabolism due to its impact on AMPK. It may also have an impact on blood sugar and cholesterol levels, so the ingredients match the claims made.

Lemme Debloat

Cost: Capsules:$40, Gummies: $40

Price per serving: Capsules: $1.33 (60 capsules, 30 servings), Gummies: $1 (60 gummies, 30 servings)

What it does: Reduces bloating, aids digestion, fuels a healthy gut and supports the immune system

Ingredients:

  • 37mg (3 billion CFUs) probiotics (patented Lactospore® Bacillus coagulans) and DE111® (bacillus subtilis)
  • 80mg prebiotics (XOS)
  • 4g carbs
  • 3g sugars
  • Other Ingredients: Tapioca Syrup, Organic Cane Sugar, Pectin, Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT), Less than 2% of: Carnauba Wax, Citric Acid, Fruit and Vegetable Juice (Colour), Natural Blackberry Flavor, Rice Flour, Sodium Malate (Pecmate), Sunflower Lecithin.

Scientific studies behind the ingredients

  • Probiotics balance out the good and bad bacteria in our gut, with the two important strains being Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. They can fix the imbalance of our gut bacteria, they can help treat certain GI problems, manage IBS and reduce bloating, gas and digestive discomfort.
  • Prebiotics are food for our good gut bacteria and they may improve gut-related conditions, like constipation, although which prebiotic formulation is best is still not known.

Will it work?

A daily dose of 2.5 to 10g of prebiotics is needed to reap the health benefits, and since Lemme Debloat only has 80mg, this isn’t enough. The supplement contains both good forms of probiotic strains, and it’s within the recommended 1 to 10 billion CFUs per day, so it’s great on this front. The gummies have a lot of unnecessary added ingredients, though, and you can find a lot better for cheaper.

Lemme Sleep

Cost: $40

Price per serving: Gummies: $1 (60 gummies, 30 servings)

What it does: Helps you fall asleep fast for a restful sleep and helps promote healthy sleep patterns.

Ingredients:

  • 5mg melatonin
  • 20mg magnesium (from magnesium citrate)
  • 50mg l-theanine
  • 26mg blend of lavender extract, chamomile flower and elderberry
  • 5g carbs
  • 3g sugars
  • 5g sodium
  • Other Ingredients: Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Cane Sugar, Water, Contains less than 2% of: Citric Acid, Coconut Oil, Carnauba Wax, Fruit and Vegetable Juice (Colour), Natural Flavor, Pectin, Sodium Citrate.

Scientific studies behind the ingredients

  • Melatonin helps tell your body that it’s time to prepare for sleep by making you tired and drowsy. It’s great for people whose circadian rhythm, our sleep-wake cycle, is out of sorts, such as from jet lag, shift work or studying.
  • Melatonin is a short-term fix for sleep problems and should only be taken for a maximum of 13 weeks. For a long-term solution, consider taking magnesium supplements or fixing the root cause of your sleep issues.
  • You can also counter the effect of melatonin if you take it and then have an overactive mind through being on social media, playing video games or by worrying. You should take it and then get ready for bed.
  • If we’re low in magnesium, which many of us are, magnesium can improve sleep. Magnesium citrate is highly bioavailable, meaning it’s easily absorbable into our digestive tract. It does, however, have a laxative effect. It also has calming effects, so it’s great for those with anxiety.
  • L-theanine may help people relax before bed, get a better, deeper sleep and help them fall asleep faster, especially since it crosses the blood-brain barrier, but these benefits came from 200 to 900mg daily for around 8 weeks.
  • Lavender tea may help you achieve a more restful sleep by increasing the time of deep slow-wave sleep.

Will it work?

Considering we need between 320 and 420mg of magnesium a day, you won’t be taking Lemme Sleep for its magnesium benefits. It has a good amount of melatonin, though, which should help you sleep, but remember, melatonin is only a short-term fix to sleep issues. The small levels of l-theanine in the product won’t do you much, either.

Most of the benefits of this supplement come from the melatonin, and you can buy melatonin capsules for incredibly cheap and you will get more, too. In our opinion, there are better sleep aid options on the market, especially since a lot of what you’re paying for here are the ingredients that go into making the gummies.

Check out Xandro Lab’s Magnesium Glycinate supplement. Magnesium glycinate is one of the best magnesium supplements for sleep. In our bodies, magnesium helps us regulate our circadian rhythm and melatonin levels, which can help us get a better, deeper sleep, as well as help regulate our sleep/wake cycle.

Lemme Glow

Cost: $30

Price per serving: Gummies: $1 (60 gummies, 30 servings)

What it does: Promotes skin, hair and nail health.

Ingredients:

  • 200mg collagen peptides – hydrolyzed grass-fed bovine collagen
  • 250mcg biotin
  • 5mg zinc citrate
  • 450mcg RAE vitamin A (beta carotene)
  • 50mg vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
  • 6mg vitamin E
  • 4g carbs
  • 2g sugars
  • 10g sodium
  • 10g trace minerals – Concentrace® from Utah’s Great Salt Lake
  • Other Ingredients: Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Cane Sugar, Water, Pectin. Contains less than 2% of Organic Carnauba Wax, Citric Acid, Organic Fruit and Vegetable Juice (for Colour), Natural Flavor, Sodium Citrate, Organic Sunflower Oil.

Scientific studies behind the ingredients

  • When taken orally, collagen may improve skin moisture, elasticity and hydration, as well as reduce wrinkles and roughness of the skin.
  • Biotin, or vitamin B7, can be incredibly useful as biotin deficiency can cause hair loss and thinning, but biotin deficiency is rare as it’s found in many foods we eat, such as eggs, salmon, sardines, nuts, whole grains and bananas.
  • This is the same with zinc, which is even unsafe to consume in increased amounts for extended periods of time. If you’re not deficient, biotin and zinc are not likely to do much for you.
  • For nails, biotin may help with brittle nails when you take 2.5mg daily.
  • Vitamin C is another great vitamin known for its role in energy production but, unless deficient, high doses can actually increase oxidation rather than reduce it.
  • Vitamin A is needed for skin health by improving the appearance of wrinkles and sagging, as well as reducing hyperpigmentation. The recommended dosage is 400mcg RAE each day, but this is found in many foods we eat and too much vitamin A can actually trigger hair loss.

Will it work?

Currently, studies have found that taking 2.5 to 15g of hydrolyzed collagen per day may help with skin and hair health, so the amount in this supplement may not do much for you. If you’re not biotin deficient, you’re not likely to experience any benefits from the supplement. The vitamins within Lemme Glow are decent dosages, however, keep in mind that most multivitamins contain the same, if not more, dosage of many of these vitamins, plus a range of other vitamins we need, without the added carbs and sugars.

Lemme Curb

Cost: $40

Price per serving: $1.33 (60 capsules, 30 servings)

What it does: Reduces cravings, promotes healthy blood sugar levels and supports glucose metabolism

Ingredients:

  • 600mcg chromium picolinate (Chromax®)
  • 100ng potassium chloride
  • 500mg bitter melon extract
  • 150mg organic Ceylon cinnamon bark
  • 60mg greens superfood blend
  • Other Ingredients: Hypromellose Vegan Capsule Floli50™️ (Organic Brown Rice Grain Flower, Organic Brown Rice Sprouted Protein)

Scientific studies behind the ingredients

  • Some studies show that chromium may improve blood sugar levels in those with diabetes as well as in those with high blood sugar and low insulin sensitivity. These were for periods of about 4 months, but other studies have found that it hasn’t had much impact on those with type 2 diabetes.
  • Chromium may reduce hunger and cravings in overweight women as well as those who have depression or binge-eating disorders. Doses were between 600 to 1,000ug/day (mcg).
  • Chromium may also affect glucose metabolism due to its effect on insulin sensitivity, but these results have been mixed.
  • Potassium chloride can be used to treat low potassium levels (hypokalemia), which can result from insulin deficiency and may reduce high blood pressure.
  • Bitter melon contains various vitamins and may reduce blood sugar and help treat diabetes-related conditions, however, these benefits were found with at least 2,000mg per day and more high-quality research is needed in humans.
  • Bitter melon is high in fibre — about 2g per 100g — meaning it is good for weight loss and keeping you fuller for longer, therefore reducing cravings.
  • Ceylon cinnamon bark was found to reduce insulin levels in diabetic rats and it stimulates insulin-like activity, helping glucose metabolise in the liver.

Will it work?

If you don’t have diabetes, you won’t experience the blood sugar benefits of this supplement. The capsules have enough chromium to potentially experience its hunger and cravings benefits and they’re in a form that will absorb well (chromium picolinate) since chromium doesn’t absorb well into our bodies. Men need 3,400mg and women need 2,600mg of potassium each day, so the 100mg of potassium chloride is not much, although you also get more potassium from the bitter melon extract (40% of our daily value if there’s 8% in 100g). The capsules contain 150mg of cinnamon bark, which is good since the recommended dosage for insulin benefits is 120mg per day.

Overall, Lemme Curb contains ingredients that do have scientific studies around them, although how well it curbs appetite may differ from person to person due to the amount of the ingredients within and whether the individual is diabetic.

Lemme Chill

Cost: $30

Price per serving: $1 (60 gummies, 30 servings)

What it does: Supports occasional stress relief

Ingredients:

  • 5g carbs
  • 3g sugars
  • 10g sodium
  • 300mg KSM-66 Ashwagandha root extract
  • 15mg herbal blend of lemon balm extract, passion flower extract and goji berry extract
  • Other Ingredients: Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Cane Sugar, Water, Contains less than 2% of: Citric Acid, Coconut Oil, Carnauba Wax, Fruit and Vegetable Juice (Colour), Natural Flavor, Pectic, Sodium Citrate.

Scientific studies behind the ingredients

  • Many scientific studies have suggested that ashwagandha extract may reduce stress and anxiety, with doses between 240 and 1,250mg each day.
  • Ashwagandha has been found to significantly reduce stress and anxiety, reduce fatigue and sleeplessness and reduce serum cortisol (a stress hormone) levels.
  • Ashwagandha benefits were found to be greater with doses of 500 to 600mg/day.

Will it work?

Lemme Chill contains ashwagandha, which has been shown to potentially help stress levels, however, there are better products out there. For example, supplements can contain KSM-66, Sensoril® or Shoden® Ashwagandha, and KSM-66 has the least amount of withanolides (the compound in the plant that helps stress relief: 5% compared to 10% and 35% respectively). It is, however, used in the most clinical trials.

For its benefits, you need 500 to 1000mg of KSM-66 per day, compared to 250 to 500mg of Sensoril® and 70 to 200mg of Shoden®. Lemme chill only contains 300mg. There are also much cheaper ashwagandha supplements on the market where you get more servings. Since it’s a gummy, there are also quite a lot of unnecessary added ingredients compared to a capsule.

Learn more in our ashwagandha comparison, here or check out Xandro Lab’s Shoden® Ashwagandha.

Lemme Focus

Cost: $30

Price per serving: $1.67 (50 gummies, 25 servings)

What it does: Improves focus, attention and concentration

Ingredients:

  • 250mg Cognizin® citicoline
  • 5g carbs
  • 3g sugars
  • 4.8mcg B12
  • 10mg sodium
  • 25mg lion’s mane extract
  • 10mg coconut MCT oil
  • Other Ingredients: Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Cane Sugar, Water, Contains less than 2% of: Citric Acid, Coconut Oil, Carnauba Wax, Fruit and Vegetable Juice (Colour), Organic Natural Flavor, Pectin, Sodium Citrate.

Scientific studies behind the ingredients

  • Citicoline has neuroprotective properties and is being investigated as a drug to treat various conditions.
  • It has been shown to improve memory and brain function, although many of these studies have been made on animals so more research is needed on humans.
  • Citicoline may improve cognitive function in those with Parkinson’s disease and protect against Alzheimer’s disease.
  • There is limited research that citicoline may help with depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, but long-term research is needed on humans.
  • Vitamin B12 deficiency has been linked with memory loss.
  • Lion’s mane may protect against dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, but these benefits were found with 1g daily. More studies are needed in humans.
  • Lion’s mane may help mild symptoms of depression and anxiety, but there are very few studies conducted on humans.

Will it work?

As a dietary supplement, citicoline’s recommended dosage is 500mg per day, with benefits found in clinical studies at dosages between 500 to 2,000mg per day, taking for 3 to 12 weeks. Lemme Focus only contains 250mg.

If you don’t have a vitamin B12 deficiency, you won’t benefit from the brain benefits of vitamin B12, although it has a good amount in it (compared to the 2.4mcg recommended daily allowance), although you would get this from a multivitamin. Studies with lion’s mane around cognitive function have used 3 to 5g per day, while for Alzheimer’s benefits, it’s been over 1000mg per day, so the 25mg in Lemme Focus won’t do much.

FAQs

Is Lemme brand successful?

Lemme is successful in raising awareness of various supplements that people can take to help them with their targeted issues. The products are well designed, pinpointing exactly their customers’ pain points, whether it be to improve their focus, to help them burn fat or to help them sleep. Kourtney Kardashian has partnered with scientists and doctors to make sure her supplements use clinically-backed ingredients, which is great to see, and the ingredients align with what the supplement is targeting. Due to the amounts of certain ingredients within the supplements, however, how well they work will differ.

Are Lemme products FDA approved?

The supplement industry is not regulated by the FDA. A manufacturer can adhere to FDA requirements, which Lemme mentions they do on their website, but the supplement industry is unregulated. Lemme also highlights the products are manufactured in NSF and GMP-certified factories. They are vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO products.

End Note

So, what’s our verdict?

Personally, we think that Lemme Burn and Lemme Curb are decent supplements, however, there are better alternatives to the other products. We would recommend shopping around for variations and ensuring the ingredients are at the required dosages for the issues you are taking the supplement for.

If you’re looking for gummies or capsules, Lemme has both, depending on the supplement, which is nice to see as some people struggle with swallowing capsules and prefer gummies. Keep in mind that the gummies have many extra ingredients added, both to make the gummy and to give it some flavour.

It’s also important to remember that many people have taken Lemme supplements and have experienced great benefits, so you can always test them out to see if they benefit you, especially since everyone is different and what works for one person may not work for another.
