The Time of Day to take NMN and Trans-Resveratrol

NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) and resveratrol are two popular anti-aging supplements due to their benefits on metabolism and increased lifespan in various organisms, but key questions about their usage are floating around.

To get its full effects, the best time of the day to take NMN for young people is about 6 hours after they wake up, although, newer studies have found NMN supplements should be take one hour before eating breakfast on an empty stomach.

Resveratrol should be taken on an empty stomach at night, as this is when the body’s natural rhythm slows down, allowing for better absorption. As our metabolism is slower at night, this could also reduce inflammation. For older people, resveratrol should be taken at midday to receive its greatest effect.

Several human clinical trials are underway on how NMN and resveratrol affect the aging process, showing promising results to look out for in the future.

Should you take NMN and resveratrol together?

It has been shown to be beneficial when taking NMN and resveratrol together. Combining these two has been found to possibly increase the NAD+ levels in the heart and muscle, with NAD+ needed for energy metabolism by keeping our sirtuins going.

Dr. David Sinclair found that resveratrol is needed to activate the sirtuin genes, which protect our DNA and epigenome, and then NMN fuels these sirtuins.

Keep in mind that resveratrol has low bioavailability, meaning it’s not absorbed well. Trans-resveratrol is the more bioavailable form that is often used for supplements.
